Emma Tibbs

Emma Tibbs passed away on New Year’s Day, 2019. Emma, along with husband Sonny, was one of the neighborhood’s original homeowners, having lived on Tabago Court for decades. An organizer of the first Greenbrier Residents, Inc. Board, her passion to preserve and protect this neighborhood will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 7, with a funeral mass to follow at noon.

SKANES, Edward Lee “Ed”, 80, of Lexington, husband of Helen Kleingarn Skanes, passed away May 5, 2012 at St. Joseph Hospital East. Born in Wymore NE, he is a son of the late Eva June and Edward Skanes, Jr. Along with his wife, he was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, and a Army Veteran during the Korean War. Ed had a love for stockcar racing from 1949 until he retired in 1951. At the time of the Korean War, he enlisted in the Army, where he achieved the rank of Lieutenant. On September 16, 1954, he married the love of his life, Helen, and enjoyed 57 loving years. He loved his family and enjoyed raising his children. He worked in electronics throughout his life, and was employed by Midwestern Gas Transmission Company.
