Preparations have begun for our 2013 Senior Intern Program. The Senior Intern Program offers senior adults (50 and older) in Fayette County, who have not previously attended, the opportunity to learn more about local government by talking to key decision makers, participating in class activities and visiting several facilities.
Several sessions are devoted to field trips to outlying government operations that include Community Corrections, Traffic Control, the Courts, Fire & Emergency Services, the Division of Police and many more areas. Many of these trips are made possible thanks to the generosity of LexTran.
The 2013 Senior Intern Program will be held from June 10h through June 14th. The program concludes on Friday, June 14th with the Annual Alumni Luncheon/Graduation.
Space is limited to the first 45 eligible people who apply. Only those people who have not previously attended may attend. The week is exciting and the feedback over the years has been outstanding. Please note there is a considerable amount of walking on most days. We start each day at 8:30 and end around 3:00pm.
