JUST TWO DAYS LEFT BEFORE THE ANNUAL GREENBRIER HOLIDAY DECORATING CONTEST!  TAKE AN EVENING TOUR AROUND THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND SEE IF YOU CAN TELL WHO THE CHIEF ELF-MEISTER AND HIS MERRY BAND WILL JUDGE  MOST WHIMSICAL; BEST ENTRYWAY; and  BEST OVERALL DISPLAY!
ALSO, THE GRI WILL BE POSTING DATES FOR SPRING EVENTS SOON!  YOU WON’T WANT TO MISS THE SPRING GARAGE SALE, BUSINESS MEETING, LADIES TEA, ETC.

Dues are still only $100 per year, and can be conveniently paid by PayPal or by check mailed or dropped off to my address at 3556 Antilles Drive.

Jamaican me Scared Rescheduled

Due to the spooky weather we are having, the city-wide Trick or Treat night has been moved to Saturday afternoon from 3 – 5pm. Also re-scheduled is the Jamaican me Scared event which will  take place this Saturday from 1.30 to 3pm on Jamaica Court.

All are welcome to attend!

Fall Business Meeting October 21

All residents are invited to attend the Fall Business Meeting of the Greenbrier Residents, Inc. This by-law mandated event will be held at the home of Sarah and Carl Lee, 1805 Bahama Road. Drinks and snacks will be served at 6.30pm; the program will start promptly at 7pm.

Fall Disposal Day – Saturday, Oct. 12 & 19

Fayette County residents can dispose of non-hazardous household waste Saturday from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Bluegrass Regional Transfer Station, 1505 Old Frankfort Pike.

Hazardous materials such as pesticides, motor oil and paint will not be accepted at this event. Residents can bring such items to the Household Hazardous Waste Collection on October 19 from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. at 1631 Old Frankfort Pike. This collection is free for Fayette County residents.

Pizza with Public Safety

Councilmember Plomin is planning her first “Pizza with Public Safety” event to highlight tips and tricks for safety at home and in our neighborhoods. It will be held on Monday, October 7th from 6-8 p.m. at Lexington’s Eastside Branch Library.

Two Neighborhood Resource Officers and the Firefighters at Firestation #21 will be present at the event to answer questions and get to know the community. Food and drinks will be provided, and there will be a real firetruck in the parking lot for kids to tour and some free giveaways.
