Greenbrier’s Spring Business Meeting will be held this coming Monday, April 13th at the home of Sarah and Carl Lee, 1805 Bahama Road at 7pm. All are welcome to attend!

First, we will be joined by Elizabeth Pickett, Director of Public Affairs and Rodrick Robinson, Chief Deputy, Field Operations Division of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department. Elizabeth and Rodrick will discuss neighbourhood safety initiatives. Next Louise Caldwell-Edmunds form the Lexington Fayette Urban County Government will join us. Louise will discuss the range of services provided to the various tax districts in Fayette county.

A planning meeting for the 2014 edition of the Great American Cleanup will be held on Monday, March 10 at 6:30 pm at the Town Branch Treatment Plant. Last year more than 2,000 Lexington residents participated in 70 clean up events. Spring cleaning activities will be held through May.

Many Greenbrier residents have expressed a concern with the state of our neighborhood streets this winter. GRA President Marianna Marye has contacted the office of our district Council Member, Ed Lane regarding the situation. Currently Bahama is the only street in Greenbrier that is on the “Priority” plowing list. Many cul-de-sacs can not be plowed by the county trucks because of the large turning radius and potential liability issues. Continue reading
