The Louisville office of the National Weather Service is reporting an elevated fire danger will continue.
An outdoor burn ban is in effect for Fayette County.
A fireworks ban is also in effect for Lexington and Fayette County. The ban will continue as long as the outdoor burn ban is posted. Community fireworks displays will proceed as scheduled.
We have received the following note from the Country Club:
Greenbrier Residents, please refrain from lighting any fireworks on golf course property or fireworks that may land on golf course property. The extreme heat and dry climate we are experiencing has created a dangerous fire hazard. If you do choose to light fireworks please do it in a manner that will avoid debris landing on golf course property to avoid the potential for fire. Thanks in advance for your cooperation to keep everyone safe.
