Neighborhood Business Meeting: UPDATE: The meeting is cancelled. Monday, April 13 at the home of Carl and Sarah Lee, 1805 Bahama Rd. Please note that this meeting is subject to change as the virus situation unfolds.
Neighborhood Garage Sale: Saturday, April 25. UPDATE: The sale is cancelled.
No Book Club in April or May
The Greenbrier Book Club normally meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM.
The normal meeting location is the Club House. During the Winter when the Club is closed, alternative arrangements will be made.
It is hoped that the meetings will resume in June.

March Book Club

Ladies!
All GRI dues-paid ladies are invited to our annual spring tea this weekend. Our hostess, Cristie Cerniglia, will be preparing punch , appetizers and other goodies for your enjoyment! Please RSVP to Cristie by calling or texting her at 859-351-9047 ASAP!
Cristie and her family have taken the formerly unremarkable house at 2242 Bahama Road (the corner of Bahama and Bahama) to a showplace you will be delighted to see!
Please don’t delay! Make plans to see the re-model and visit with other neighbors and friends this Sunday, March 8th, from 2-4pm.
Please use the front door or come up the back stairs and go through the door on the rear deck.

February Book Club
The Greenbrier Book Club will meet the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM.
The February meeting will be at The Chop House on Richmond Road on the 25th. Join us for dinner and a discussion of The Secrets We Keep by Lara Prescott.

Jamaican me Scared Rescheduled
Due to the spooky weather we are having, the city-wide Trick or Treat night has been moved to Saturday afternoon from 3 – 5pm. Also re-scheduled is the Jamaican me Scared event which will take place this Saturday from 1.30 to 3pm on Jamaica Court.
All are welcome to attend!
Pizza with Public Safety
Councilmember Plomin is planning her first “Pizza with Public Safety” event to highlight tips and tricks for safety at home and in our neighborhoods. It will be held on Monday, October 7th from 6-8 p.m. at Lexington’s Eastside Branch Library.
Two Neighborhood Resource Officers and the Firefighters at Firestation #21 will be present at the event to answer questions and get to know the community. Food and drinks will be provided, and there will be a real firetruck in the parking lot for kids to tour and some free giveaways.

2019 Independence Day Celebrations
There are two special reasons tor freedom lovers to celebrate July 4th this year – and we’re not even talking about the US Declaration of Independence – which enshrined in a Bill of Rights religious freedom, freedom of speech, press freedom, and the right to peaceably assemble.
First is the neighborhood breakfast/brunch at the home of Jennifer and Ben Allen, 3785 Jamaica Court. Starting at 10am, neighbors are invited to bring a dish to share and a chair while kids enjoy playing on inflatables. No rain date is planned.
Second is the annual Greenbrier parade, hosted by parade meister extraordinaire Chris Thiel. Kids are encouraged to bring decorated bikes. golf carts, and scooters to the Antigua Circle around 3.30pm. Fire engine #17 will arrive at 4pm to lead the way around Bahama to the Clubhouse, where paradegoers can enjoy snocones, and kids will be awarded prizes in several categories.

The Greenbrier Neighborhood Spring Garage Sale will be held this Saturday, April 27th, though some sales will be open on Friday, the 26th. Sale Hours are advertised from 8am until 2pm each day.
If you live off Bahama Road please contact Cyndy Powell at 859-312-0257 so she can put up signs leading to your Court or Street by tomorrow, Wednesday, the 24th.
